Magnificent Austin Healey 3000 MKIII, fully restored at great expense in 2020 by a well-known vintage car restorer in France (invoices exceeding €75,000).
Absolutely everything has been overhauled from A to Z, including the bodywork, engine, upholstery, and soft top. Many high-quality new parts were used to make this Austin Healey reliable, without compromising its originality.
Three Weber carburetors were chosen instead of the original SU units to improve performance and engine responsiveness during acceleration. An electronic ignition system has also been installed.
In the same spirit, a high-quality adjustable suspension kit (front and rear) has been fitted. Additionally, a modification to the front axle allows for geometry adjustments on all angles.
Since the restoration, nearly 7,000 km have been covered, to the great pleasure of its owner.
This Austin Healey 3000 MKIII (type BJ8) was delivered new to the United States in 1964, before being imported to France and restored. The original Ice Blue color was reapplied during the restoration.
The entire upholstery is new, as well as the soft top (not shown in the photos), the tonneau cover, and the soft top cover, all custom-made in dark blue alpaca fabric.
The presence of a hard top is a real advantage, giving the car a more racing look, while allowing it to be driven in any weather and all seasons.
Our Phase 2 BJ8 is the most desirable of all production Austin Healeys, thanks to its more luxurious features like the wooden dashboard and technical and mechanical upgrades (lower ride height for improved handling, rear axle guidance, larger brake discs, etc.).
Behind the wheel, its ease of use is much appreciated, especially over long distances thanks to the overdrive. As for the sound, it is enchanting and perfectly matches the engine and Weber carburetors, which are eager to rev.
Officially capable of 200 km/h when new, this BJ8’s ideal playground remains winding roads, although it can easily handle much more today.
This Austin Healey is available on consignment and can be viewed by appointment only in Clichy, just a few minutes from Metro Saint-Ouen (Line 14).
