Fjord Blue 2002 Luxus

This BMW 2002 Luxus was sold new through BMW dealer Alfred Wahl KG in in Hüttental-Weidenau to the Benders brothers from Kreuztal Ferndorf and was first registered on the 17th of July 1974. The original service book and shows the brothers had their 2002 serviced at the selling dealer for a long time - Up to 1987. Also the brakefluid changes as well as the Tectyl anti rust treatments were documented in the stamped service book. A 1987 Tüv report is even present, in the name of the same Bender brothers.

In later years the car was not used and stored dry. Recently a specialist has restored this BMW 2002 to a fantastic level. Completely taking apart the car, doing the bodywork, taking it back to bare-metal and performing a beautiful re-paint in it’s factory color. A timeless, classy color which makes the chrome really come alive – especially having the factory (luxus) green tinted glass. The car was repainted beautifully and professionally: also the engine bay and trunk and undercarriage. The paint finish is excellent.
The car has brand new beltline and lower black trim, nice and straight chrome bumpers, nice kidney, grilles and lighting parts. The restoration went far: All new emblems, seals & gaskets, All new zinc-plated locks & hardware. The trunk has been reupholstered beautiful with new wood and grey vinyl.

The Luxus’ original Blue velours interior was restored beautifully. Seats and rearseat reupholstered in lovely soft marine velours. New carpets, a new headliner and perfectly installed. The dashboard is beautiful, shows no cracks and has the correct instruments. The Luxus version had wooden instrument cluster panel, center armrest in the rear, doorpockets and wood on the doorpanels.

The 2002 has the beloved 2,0 Liter M10 Matching Numbers engine that was taken out for a full rebuild. It runs smoothly with great torque and power. The original Solex carburator has been cleaned and tuned for perfect mixture, idle and power. Everything on and around the engine is either new or rebuilt. It has new sparkplugs, points, leads, cap, rotor and condensator for a perfect spark.

Furthermore all new water hoses, all new filters, fuellines & more. The exhaust system is completely new.
The front and rear axles have been assembled with all new bushings, rubbers, plated hardware, 4 new shocks, new tie-rods, ball-jonts and much more. The car drives amazing: it sits on a set of restored set of 13 inch wheels with brand new tires. The brakesystem has been rebuilt as well with rebuilt calipers, new hoses, new brakelines etc.

Excellent 2002 that was restored to a level we hardly see!
