Descrizione del veicolo
Unfindable, extremely rare and now available at Lelimotive in Wateringen, this original Krauser Domani 1200.
Please feel free to contact us via phone, whatsapp or email for more information or a reservation. Viewing is possible on appointment, daytime, evennings and weekends are all possible. We speak Dutch, Englisch and German.
This 1999 model is one of the last produced and delivered with the BMW K1200 4-cylinder engine block with 130 hp.
You may know Krauser from the BMW cases and the beautiful MKM1000 based on the R100RS. But the Domani sidecar was the real Krauser masterpiece. Michael Krauser himself was originally a sidecar racer and German champion.
At the time, it was delivered new to the first owner in Germany, sold 10 years later to a Frenchman and from 2016 it was again in a German private collection and has not been ridden since then.
With only 135 Domani's produced, it is a machine that you hardly ever see and they do not come on the market either.
This Krauser is equipped with a complete folder with filled in booklet, original Krauser folder, all technical data from BMW/TUV and Krauser instructions for removing the fairing, Krauser waterproof cover in bag, all original keys and various invoices and DE/FR registration documents.
The extensive development was done from 1981 to 1988 and in 1989 the first Domani's were delivered to customers. The Swiss LCR sidecar produced the chassis, BMR was responsible for the one-piece polyester body and Michael Krauser oversaw the whole thing and the distribution.
About 60 units went to Japan, so only 75 units were delivered to the rest of the world.
Our example is completely original and upon arrival equipped with battery, new fuel pump, petrol and spark plugs. The engine starts immediately and drives fine. Optically neat with here and there some traces of use and age. The pearl white paint and striping still have a full shine, the blue leather of the seats is still neat. The polycarbonate windshields are still exceptionally tight.
If the Domani is to be driven (for a longer period of time), an extensive service and inspection of the chassis, tires, brake system and electrics (by a specialist) is necessary for safety due to the long period of inactivity. A short tour at limited speed is perfectly possible 'as is'
This Krauser Domani is a pure collector's item, beautiful to have and an interesting investment.
