This Mercedes G280 CDI is a rare and authentic version of the legendary « G-Wagen », designed exclusively in a 5-door configuration and intended solely for the professional military market. Powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine developing 184 hp and 400 Nm of torque, this version features permanent all-wheel drive, a 5-speed automatic transmission, and three differential locks, delivering exceptional off-road capability. Featuring a utilitarian interior, rubber flooring, and robust finishes, this G280 reflects a “back to basics” philosophy focused on pure efficiency. Rare, functional, and true to the original DNA of the G-Class, this edition is aimed at enthusiasts seeking a pure and durable off-roader, capable of tackling the most demanding environments.

The example we are offering for sale is a G280 CDI in the Professional version, intended exclusively for the military market, first registered on October 30, 2009. Registered as a 2-seat commercial vehicle (CTTE 2 places), it is exempt from the French company car tax (TVS) as well as the CO₂ penalty. It has covered just over 219,000 kilometers and is presented today in very good overall condition. In 2023, this G280 underwent a comprehensive, high-quality preparation at ORC Germany, with nearly €40,000 before tax invested. The full list of work carried out is as follows:

• Engine oil service with filter replacement
• Full vehicle inspection and replacement of all fluids
• Automatic transmission oil and filter replacement
• Front and rear differential oil and transfer case oil change
• Brake system flush with new brake lines installed
• Transmission filter replacement
• Thorough inspection of the EGR valve
• Complete exhaust system inspection
• Replacement of the viscous coupling
• Modernisation of the gear selector console
• Headlight height adjustment overhaul with Mercedes adaptation kit
• Fully serviced air-conditioning system: drain, leak inspection, wiring refurbishment, new compressor, full recharge
• Front axle overhaul: CV boots, steering knuckles, tapered bearings, seals and gaskets
• Installation of Mercedes 16-inch black wheels
• BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres in 265/75 R16
• Installation of Scheel-Mann seats: Mercedes Rodeo fabric centers, black vinyl bolsters; electric-adjustable and heated backrests (specific to Professional models)
• Installation of a new center console with full wiring
• Power window kit for the front doors: wiring, switches and OEM-style trims
• Addition of an overhead storage compartment above the passenger side and a fold-down console compartment
• Installation of LED main headlights with black bezels and two auxiliary long-range LED lights controlled by a factory Mercedes switch
• Fitting of a Professional steel roof rack with anti-corrosion treatment and aluminum tread-plate surface
• Installation of a matching rear ladder for roof access
• Replacement of front and side indicators with clear-lens units
• Addition of black protective grilles on indicators and exterior elements

The vehicle has since passed through our workshop for another round of mechanical maintenance, including an engine oil service with all filters replaced. The thermostat, crankshaft seal, and flywheel were also replaced (the transmission was therefore drained and fitted with a new filter), and numerous hoses were renewed to ensure optimal mechanical reliability. It is now ready to travel far, long, and anywhere.
