Descrizione del veicolo
1989 ROVER 216EFI VITESSE SALOON
British Leyland's initial joint venture with Honda, which produced the Ballade-based Triumph Acclaim, paved the way for a new collaboration.
This time, the successor to the Acclaim would carry the Rover badge, indicating a strategic shift towards promoting the historic Rover brand. The fresh Rover model was built upon the foundation of the Honda Civic, incorporating both the Civic's 1.3-liter engine and Rover's 1.6-liter unit. The interior design was given the classic Rover touch, resulting in the highly successful Rover 200 series, with the top-of-the-line model known as the 'Vitesse'.
The connection between the 216 Vitesse and the high-performance derivative of the SD1 was visually evident.
This included a 14-inch version of the multi-spoke alloy wheel design and a distinctive 'Vitesse' decal positioned on the lower section of the rear doors.
However, more importantly, the 216 Vitesse boasted significant performance enhancements over the 216 Vanden Plas EFi.
To improve its performance, the 216 Vitesse featured a polyurethane spoiler on the bootlid and a deep front air dam spoiler. These additions not only enhanced the car's aerodynamics but also contributed to its superior performance compared to the 216 Vanden Plas EFi.
The 216 Vitesse boasted an impressive 0-60mph acceleration time of 9.2 seconds, whereas the Vanden Plas EFi achieved 9.4 seconds. Additionally, the Vitesse achieved a higher top speed of 112mph, showcasing its prowess on the road.
ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC EXAMPLE
The 216 in question is a very special one. This example is the very last Rover 216 ever built.
Your very best opportunity to buy a brand new 1989 car.
The odometer shows just 41 kilometres since new. These are the kilometres the factory test drove the car.
Finished in a beautiful shade of Dark Green with beige interior and a rare factory original electric sunroof.
CONDITION EXTERIOR
As you can expect from a brand new car, the car is in good condition.
There are no major scratches or dents visible and the rims and tyres are in good condition.
The headlights and rear lights are also free of scratches and moisture and work properly.
CONDITION INTERIOR
The interior is untouched. With only 46 kilometres on the odometer, the car has barely been sat in and it definitely shows.
The knobs are all damage-free, as is the fabric on the seats.
The buttons work properly. All electrical components work as they should.
