Biarritz Sports And Classic Cars (Bscc) is pleased to present this 1971 Fiat Dino 2400 Coupé.

The Fiat Dino was born of an agreement between Fiat and Ferrari to produce 500 examples of the V6 engine developed by Dino Ferrari, the prerequisite for obtaining an engine homologation for the Ferrari 166 F2.

The coupé was presented in 1967. Designed by Bertone. This elegant “fast back” coupé is a real eye-catcher.

The model was revised in 1969 with a slight restyling, a more luxurious interior and an increased displacement of 2400cc developing 180 hp.

This “mythical” engine was also fitted to the famous Ferrari 246 GT and Lancia Stratos.

Only 2398 Dino 2400 Coupes were produced between 1969 and 1972.

This Fiat Dino was initially sold in Italy. It was exported to the UK in 1990 and restored between 2006 and 2009. It was then sold in France in 2010. It has been scrupulously maintained ever since.

A few discreet improvements have been made: leather interior with red piping, retractable belts, modern car radio and speakers.

A file of invoices, an appraisal and the vehicle's history are in our possession.

At the wheel, this 4-seater coupé is quite luxurious for its time: electric windows, wood-finish steering wheel and dashboard, crank-operated rear windows. Unsurprisingly, the engine is very pleasant. Passing maneuvers are crisp, the 5-speed gearbox is well calibrated, and braking is worthy of what you'd expect from a Coupe of this era.

La Fiat Dino est née d’un accord entre Fiat et Ferrari afin que la production du moteur V6, développé par Dino Ferrari, atteigne les 500 exemplaires, sésame pour obtenir l’homologation du moteur pour la Ferrari 166 F2.

Le coupé sera présenté en 1967. Dessiné par Bertone, cet élégant coupé « fast back ».

Le modèle est revu en 1969 avec un léger restylage, un intérieur plus luxueux ainsi qu’une cylindrée augmentée à 2400 cm3 développant 180ch.

Cette Fiat Dino a été initialement vendue en Italie. Elle a été exportée en Grande-Bretagne en 1990 et restaurée entre 2006 et 2009. Elle a, ensuite, été vendue en France en 2010. Elle a été suivie scrupuleusement depuis.

Quelques discrètes améliorations ont été réalisées : intérieur en cuir avec passepoil rouge, ceintures à enrouleur, autoradio et haut-parleurs modernes.

A son volant, ce coupé 4 places est assez luxueux pour son époque : Vitres électriques, volant et tableau e bord en finition bois, vitres arrière à manivelle. Le moteur est, sans surprise, très agréable. Les reprises sont franches, la boite 5 est bien étagée, le freinage est digne de ce que l’on peut attendre d’un coupé de cette époque.
